US approves AEGIS Weapons System sale to Spain

The Pentagon approved the upgrade last month by giving Rayhteon a $149 million contract for engineering, manufacturing, and development of the new variant. The semi-active radar seeker will be replaced with an active radar seeker in this upgrade exercise.

The SM-6 has proven that it can strike surface ships and now the service intends to allocate the anti-surface and anti-air dual function to a new SM-6 Block IB variant.

For short range defense, the RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missrim-116 block iibile will evolve into a Block IIB design.

A Next Generation Strike Weapon is also being considered

Aegis Ashore ballistic missile defence system in Romania completes scheduled update
Citat:NATO's Aegis Ashore Ballistic Missile Defence site in Romania completed a long-planned update on Friday (9 August 2019).
This update, which has been taking place across the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defence system fleet, did not provide any offensive capability to the Aegis Ashore missile defence system.
The update is part of the United States European Phased Adaptive Approach to ballistic missile defence, which was announced in September 2009.
During the update, the United States fulfilled its commitment to NATO's Ballistic Missile Defence by the temporary deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to Deveselu in Romania.
The deployment of the THAAD battery to Deveselu was temporary while Aegis Ashore Romania was offline. The THAAD system will now be redeployed as planned.

Hvala im za info koliki krug pokriva THAAD oko lokacije, simpaticno izgleda onako na displeju samo to ostavljeno... Ne verujem uopste promovisanim sposobnostima AEGIS sistema, posebno ne sada kako su poceli da odobravaju prodaje Spaniji i Japanu...

Ne sumnjam u kvalitet i koncept, ali u funkcionalnost u realnim uslovima. - dajem sanse za uspeh od 30% max.
