Kažu, da ako u Tajvanu pobedi na predsedničkim izborima demokratična progresivna stranka u januaru, ima u planu, da preispita ili da okonča težnje Taivana u južnokineskom moru. Naravno to se ne sviđa Pekingu.

Taiwan completes runway, lighthouse in disputed sea
Citat:A Coast Guard Administration official told Kyodo News on condition of anonymity that the runway overhaul on Taiping Island, or Itu Aba, which forms part of the Spratly Archipelago, was completed in September.
"Planes can now land and take off," the official said.
Despite speculation that the airstrip was improved to accommodate F-16 fighter aircraft and P-3C anti-submarine surveillance planes, Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. David Lo said it is meant for flight safety and humanitarian tasks carried out by C-130 transport planes.
An official of the Taiwan Area National Expressway Engineering Bureau, which was awarded the runway reconstruction contract, told Kyodo News that refurbishment of the 1,195-meter-long landing strip included expanding the hangar area to accommodate two C-130 planes.
Other improvements include a new runway surface, lighting, a storm sewer line, oil tanks and oil transmission pipelines.
The runway on Taiping is the third longest among those on islands in the South China Sea,

AUSMIN and the South China Sea: US sets itself up for failure
http://www.lowyinterpreter.org/post/2015/10/16/AUS.....-fail.aspx
Citat:The principal reason was not the statements about sailing contested waters, but the fact that they came immediately on the back a series of US Government officials backgrounding the press about Washington's intent to imminently undertake a freedom of navigation exercise, action which has been implied as a rebuke to Beijing.
Ameri pozvali Australce, da se jim pridruže u akciji "freedom of navigation exercise". Kako dalje piše u tekstu svako ima pravo da ide tamo. To nije sporno. Australci su se odlućili, da neće da idu. Ipak su Kinezi njihovi najveći poslovni partneri. Pa mislim, da skoro svima u regionu...

Angry China says shadowed U.S. warship near man-made islands in disputed sea
Citat:A U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer sailed close to China's man-made islands in the disputed South China Sea on Tuesday, drawing an angry rebuke from Beijing, which said it warned and followed the American vessel.
The patrol by the USS Lassen was the most significant U.S. challenge yet to the 12-nautical-mile territorial limits China asserts around the islands in the Spratly archipelago and could ratchet up tension in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.
One U.S. defense official said the USS Lassen sailed within 12 nautical miles of Subi Reef. A second defense official said the mission, which lasted a few hours, included Mischief Reef and would be the first in a series of freedom-of-navigation exercises aimed at testing China's territorial claims.
China's Foreign Ministry said the "relevant authorities" monitored, followed and warned the USS Lassen as it "illegally" entered waters near islands and reefs in the Spratlys without the Chinese government's permission.
"China will resolutely respond to any country's deliberate provocations," the ministry said in a statement that gave no details on precisely where the U.S. ship sailed.
