Citat:The first L-159T2 (serial 6028) for the Vzdušné síly armády České republiky (Czech Air Force) made its first flight on 2 August 2018. The event took place at Aero Vodochody Airport (Czechia). The T2 twin seater flew for thirty minutes and landed without any problems back at Aero Vodochody.
The L-159T2 is equipped with a new-build central and forward fuselage, new avionics, Multi Function Displays, upgraded ejection VS-20 seats, Night Vision Goggle capable and a new fuel system, self-protection systems and a radar from the single seat version. The tail, rear fuselage, wings and nose cone come from existing L-159A Advanced Light Combat Aircraft (ALCA) airframes, in this case serial 6028 with construction number 156028, which was in long-time storage at Aero Vodochody.
The Czech Air Force ordered three L-159T2s in 2016 as operational advanced jet trainer. They will be most probably assigned to 21.Základna Taktického Letectva (21.zTL) at Čáslav late 2018. The wing currently operates two squadrons 212.tl (L-159A) and 213.vlt (L-39ZA, L-159T1). Five L-159T1s are also being upgraded to T1+ version.

Aero Will Overhaul 16 L-159 Aircraft for the Czech Army for CZK 1.6 Billion

The total value of the so called PP16 contract - maintenance after 16 years of service – is CZK 1.6 billion.

Cesima isporucen treci L-159T2
Citat:AEROVodochody just handed over the third and final L-159T2 trainer to the CzAF today.
It will be delivered to Caslav tomorrow. The T2s will take over the role of the L-39ZA Albatros, which saw its retirement date put back to mid June.
