“No, not at all,” Macron replied, asked by a journalist whether the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS) warplane program was dead in the water.
“We had a good discussion this morning with the Chancellor and we have instructed our defense ministries to work on a number of areas, covering various topics –- not just the fighter jet,” Macron said.
“We are continuing to move forward. Europe has never needed unity, greater independence and greater sovereignty more than it does now,” he added.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the troubled project on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans summit in Montenegro last week and concluded there was no prospect of breaking ​months of deadlock, the officials said.

Ne bi me čudilo da se Nemci i Španci pridruže GCAP programu a Francuzi pokušaju da naprave svoj. Slično kao Eurofighter i Rafal.

Moguće je isto da Španci nastave sa Francuzima. Možda Nemci nastave da kupuju F-35 i posle uzmu NGAD. Ali manje onda para za razvijanje njihovih sistema. Samim tim i njihove privrede. Što mi nekako ne ide sad sa njihovim ulaganjem u vojnu industriju. Bili bi kooperanti za zmaj kao za F-35. Ali primera, današnji (nemački) Eurofighter koristi Hensoldt radar i druge podsisteme (Praetorian). F-35 ne koristi, a neće ni NGAD.

Ako se priduže GCAP-u, tu će moći da stavljaju svoje stvari mnogo lakše i nastave da razvijaju svoje podsisteme. Doduše ima baš fina količina firmi i zemalja koje učestvuju u GCAP. Pa možda ni tu neće biti baš puno mesta. Ali možda imaju lakši prolaz da integrišu svoj, "loyal wingman" razvoj.

Sve u svemu, mislim da će se svi načekati do prvih evropskih prototipova u odnosu na Kinu (koja je pokazala svoje) i Amera (koji su rekli da su leteli i tek sada skoro je možda "iscureo" snimak).

Ne verujem da ce briti , japanci i italijani dozvoliti da im nemci udju u program koji kako tako napreduje i pocnu da izmisljaju krive drine.

Francuzi ce morati da prave svoj jer iovako zaostaju bez aviona 5. generacije. Ali nije lako napraviti takav skok u tehnologiji.

Jedino nesto sa Svedjanima jer ce i oni zaostati vremenom i tesko ce sami. Bili su u pocetku deo Tempesta ali su se povukli.

Mozda je doslo vreme da prestanu da se nagadjaju i filozofiraju o tom očigledno preambicioznom projektu "šesnaeste" generacije. Samo gube vreme. Treba prosto da naprave moderan dvomotorac sa niskim radarskim odrazom, unutrasnjim spremnicima za rakete, i naravno najnovijim postojecim radarima i motorima. Da bude veći i brži i generalno sposobniji F-35, i da konacno imaju realan plan postepene zamene EF2000 i Rafala u bliskoj buducnosti
