The UAE's first locally made light attack aircraft - which has been flying across Al Ain skies as part of its tests - is on show at the International Defence Exhibition (Idex) in Abu Dhabi.
Calidus, a defence-technology development firm in Abu Dhabi, on February 18, unveiled the details of its new Wahash infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and reported its progress in the development of its B-250 light attack aircraft.
The B-250, which is now being tested in Al Ain, will be the first light attack aircraft manufactured in the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, got a feel of the aircraft and sat in the cockpit during his Idex visit on February 18.
Designed specifically for the asymmetric warfare theatres of the 21st century, the B-250 incorporates a ground-breaking carbon fibre structure, engineered to deliver best-in-class versatility and transportability at low operating costs.

LAAD 2019: Akaer presents conceptual Mosquito multi-role aircraft

Fernando Ferraz, Akaer chief operations officer, told Jane's on 3 April that Mosquito is the result of a two-to-three-year effort to identify needs and trends in the light attack aircraft market. The company, he said, also went through 10 different designs before settling on this model while trying to blend many requirements from around the world.
"We are trying to mix some trends," Ferraz said. "This is what should be a product able to comply with all the wishes we could find."
Ferraz said an engine provider for the Mosquito has not been finalised but the company conceptually used the 500-1,000 shaft hp class Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A propulsion system. An engine provider would be according to a customer's request.
The Mosquito would differentiate itself from competing light attack aircraft such as the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano or the Textron AT-6 Wolverine by providing better visibility. Ferraz said Akaer conceptually designed the Mosquito with raised wings on the fuselage. Both the Super Tucano and the Wolverine have wings much lower on the aircraft fuselage.

Lepo izgleda, moze da se nakrca svasta i mnogo ozbiljnije izgleda od AHRLAC-a, iako je jos maketa, oni su razocarali.

Mogli su i lepo da otkupe licencu za Bronka, umesto da se prave da su napravili nešto novo. Pride je Bronko i lepši.
