kanada i australija ce se mozda prikljuciti programu.
razgovori sa australijom su vec i poceli.
Australia and Canada consider partnering in GCAP future fighter program as US policy changes weaken longtime alliances.
As reported by Nicholas Drummond on April 2, 2025, Canada and Australia are showing renewed interest in joining the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), a trilateral initiative between the United Kingdom, Japan, and Italy to develop a sixth-generation multirole combat aircraft by 2035. Recent statements from defense officials and policymakers in both countries indicate that discussions, while still preliminary, are beginning to take shape. Recent actions and statements by U.S. President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may also have contributed to a reassessment by Canada and Australia of their defense procurement strategies and the reliability of the United States as a defense partner, particularly regarding fighter jets.

According to a recent report from aviation trade magazine Flight Global, an official with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has received an “informational briefing [on] the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) consortium—a trilateral initiative between the UK, Italy, and Japan to develop a sixth-generation fighter.”

Veliki dolet i interna nosivost duplo veca od F-35 znaci velik avion...
Citat:“We’re building an aircraft that is going to have an awful lot of range,” Bill continued, “but at the top of our list is the payload.”
“Payload is what we’re all about,” Bill emphasized. “In fact, in pure capability terms, I don’t care how I get [the payload] there. It could be in the back of an A400, from a submarine, or from space. It just so happens that our analysis tells us the best way to get that payload there right now is in a fast jet. But the payload, now you’d expect weapons to be in there. So that’s obvious, and boy, will we have weapons.”
According to Bill, the Tempest will have roughly double an F-35A’s worth of payload. It’s unclear how this would be broken down in terms of fuel and weapons, but just in terms of internal and external ordnance, for the F-35A, this equates to more than 18,000 pounds, according to the manufacturer. Considering the Tempest’s mission, as described above, this is likely referring to internal payload, which would put it at around 10,000lbs compared to the F-35A’s 5,000lbs — two 2,000lb-class guided bombs plus a pair of AIM-120s. This would be an impressive load and would give Tempest quite an arsenal of its own.

Prvi let je planiran za 2027.

I motor imaju. Kako izgleda su za posao dogovoreni.
Planiran je velik doseg. To je za Pacifik. Sve što F-35 nije.
