Citat:The K9 equipped with the SMV-1000 developed by Korea's STX engine was displayed for the first time at the World Defense Show(WDS) 2024 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from February 2nd to 8th.
The SMV-1000 has the advantage of improved fuel efficiency by more than 5% compared to the existing engine and that it can be replaced 1:1 with the existing engine without any design changes to the chassis.
According to engine developer STX Engine, Egypt will be the first overseas customer for the K-9 with the new engine.
