Koliko vidim o ovom gigantu se nije ništa posebno pisalo, a zalužio je.
Naletio sam na nekoliko sjajnih (svježijih) slika, pa neka se otvori i tema o njemu.

Proizvođen između 1966.-1976., napravljeno ih je sedamdesetak. Neki su i dalje aktivni.

Ruje ga zovu `Antej` ( izdelie 100) a na Zapadu su mu dali malo `neobicno` ime Smile

Ан-22А — самолёт с увеличенной до 80 т коммерческой нагрузкой и взлётной массой 250 т (проект). Планировалось усилить конструкцию и форсировать двигатели до 18000 л.с. Разрабатывался в 1966 году.
Ан-22А — доработанный. Отличался воздушными стартерами. Изготовлено 28 самолётов.
Ан-22ПЗ («перевозчик») — самолёт для перевозки крупногабаритных деталей Ан-124 и Ан-225 на внешней подвеске. В 1980—1983 годах переоборудовано 3 самолёта.

Incidents and Accidents

Citat:On December 28, 2010 RA-09343 of the Russian Air Force crashed at Krasny Oktyabr[disambiguation needed], Russia killing all twelve crew. The aircraft was on a positioning flight from Voronezh Airport to Tver-Migalovo Airport.[5] The aircraft had been in storage since 2001 and was brought back into flying condition in January 2010.[6][7]

As of January 2011 there have been 9 hull losses with a total of 95 fatalities

After entering service, the An-22 set 14 payload to height records in 1967, the pinnacle of which was the airlift of 220,500 pounds (100 metric tonnes) of metal blocks to an altitude of 25,748 feet (7,848m). It also established the record for a maximum payload, 221,443 pounds (104,445kg), lifted to a height of 6,562 feet (2,000m). A number of speed records were also set in 1972, including a speed of 328 knots (608.5km/h) around a 540 nautical mile (1,000km) closed circuit with a 110,250 pound (50,000kg) payload. Several other speed-with-payload records were established in 1974 and 1975.

The narrow-chord wing of the An-22 meant that the total wing area was low and so the wing loading was unusually high for a cargolifter, but the wing had double slotted flaps over 60% of its length, and the An-22 could take off in 1,400 meters (4,265 feet) in fully-loaded condition.


Citat:The An-22 was designed for rough-field operation, with two-wheel nosegear and three levered-suspension dual main landing gear assemblies in each fairing, for a total of six main gear assemblies and twelve main gear wheels. The aircrew could adjust tire pressure from the cockpit to compensate for field conditions.

Sa ovim sjajnim sovjetskim avionom su odleteli motori,radari i još neki agregati,naših MiG-ova 29,za
Rusiju,ima negde na temi o MiGu ili je bila posebna tema o remontu.

Malo o upotrebi

Citat:An early use of the An-22 was to deliver aid to Peru following an earthquake in July 1970. One An-22 disappeared on 18 July when carrying out these relief flights. An-22s were also used to deliver military supplies to Egypt and Syria during the Yom Kippur War in 1973, supplies to Angola in 1975 and military aid to Ethiopia in 1977.
The An-22s from Migalovo were used for the initial insertion of the Soviet Airborne Troops (VDV) in to Kabul, Kandahar and Bagram during the 1979 Soviet war in Afghanistan. One An-22 was shot down near Kabul on 28 October 1984. In 1980 one An-22 crashed at Vnukovo International Airport while two crashed at Migalovo (in 1992 and 1994).
