Defence Committee Says Cut F-35 Fighter Jet Program

But the Italian daily Repubblica reported that “there is an agreement between the PD [party of Prime Minister Renzi] and the government on a “drastic cut” to the F-35 procurement program.
The PD’s recommendation, which the committee approved, says that “the F-35 does not guarantee industrial gains for Italy,” Reuters added, “and cites the repeated technical difficulties and cost overruns of the program as reasons to reduce the order.”).
