Sad news from Bangladesh. 9 May 2024 unspecified Yak-130 crashed, one pilot die, other was unjured. Aircraft fly on low altitude over Karnaphuli River near Chittagong-Patenga Ahah Amanat International Airport airport, when caught fire due to technical failure. Pilots ejected, both were injured, one of them dies in hospital. Aircraft fell into river, debris were retrieved after two days.

Initial reports of the Bangladeshi Yak-130 accident cited a technical failure, but a video showing the accident soon appeared online. The plane was flying at high speed over the airport runway and made two barrel rolls. The second ended up hitting the runway. The plane caught fire, bounced into the air and, burning, fell into a nearby river. The pilots menaged to eject at the last second and landed into the water. They were taken to the hospital, where one of them died. The reason for performing the dangerous maneuver is so far unknown. We may never know: the investigation may take a long time, perhaps years, as often happens...
