Italy halted the purchase of Microtecnica, which makes components for the Eurofighter jet, by using its so-called Golden Power legislation, which grants it the right to block purchases of strategic firms by overseas buyers.
Currently owned by U.S. firm Collins Aerospace, Microtecnica is part of Collins’ flight controls business, which Safran was due to buy in a $1.8 billion deal announced in July. RTX, formerly known as Raytheon Technologies, owns Collins.
Italian government sources told Defense News the planned sale comes amid conflicts and political tension across the globe, and there was concern over the security of the supply of crucial components to Italy’s armed forces.

The Eurofighter EK is to be NATO-certified by 2030 and will then replace the Tornado in the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defence) role.

^^ Upravo to sam se nadao da ce uraditi. EF-2000 zasluzuje modernizaciju.
Impresivno mi je da ce novi sistemi za elektronsko dejstvovanje (EW) biti SAAB-ovi.

Izgleda da ce Nemci prestati da koce dodatnih 48 za Saude. I to je Berbokova rekla u Jerusalimu, cim su Saudi malo promenili stranu.

Die Bundesregierung ist nach Angaben von Außenministerin Annalena Baerbock (Grüne) bereit, der Lieferung weiterer Eurofighter an Saudi-Arabien nicht länger im Weg zu stehen. Die Regierung in Riad zeige ihre Bemühungen um eine bessere Zukunft in der Region, sagte Baerbock am Sonntagabend bei einem Besuch in Jerusalem. Sie verwies darauf, dass die saudische Luftwaffe gegen Israel gerichtete Raketen der Huthi-Rebellen im Jemen abschieße. Damit trage Saudi-Arabien maßgeblich auch in diesen Tagen zur Sicherheit Israels bei und dämme die Gefahr eines regionalen Flächenbrandes ein.

"Gerade deshalb sehen wir nicht, dass wir uns als deutsche Bundesregierung den britischen Überlegungen zu weiteren Eurofightern für Saudi-Arabien entgegenstellen", sagte die Ministerin. "Die Welt, insbesondere hier im Nahen Osten, ist seit dem 7. Oktober (...) eine komplett andere geworden." Die Bundesregierung würde damit eine Kehrtwende machen, da im Koalitionsvertrag festgeschrieben ist, dass Deutschland keine Waffen an Länder liefert, die am Jemen-Krieg beteiligt sind.
