Taiwan signs contract for F-16 IRST pods Citat:The Taiwanese government has signed a contract with the United States to procure infrared search and track (IRST) pods for its Lockheed Martin F-16V Block 70/72 Viper fleet.
On 12 July the contract announcement appeared on the Taiwanese government's e-procurement website.
According to the contract note, the IRST system and 16 other items will be procured at a cost of TWD11.2 billion (USD341.4 million).
The contract is active from 25 June 2024 to 31 December 2030.

Let us recall that in 2018, a contract was signed for the purchase of 14 American Lockheed Martin F-16V Viper Block 70/72 fighters (12 single-seat and two double-seat) for the Slovak Air Force.
The purchase cost was more than 1.6 billion euros, making it the largest defense contract in the history of independent Slovakia.

Ono sto se vidi je da imaju nisansku kacigu JHMCS i podkrilne nosace sa ugradjenim sistemom samozastite PIDS + danske Terme. Rakete su AIM-9L i AIM-120. Aim-9X im nije toliko bitan, nece u dogfight ali verujem da ce imati neku C verziju AIM-120.
Meni izgleda da je aim9m.
Za početak mozda i najkorisnije pored samozastite sto imaju.
Sigurno nece da odmah lete u neke lude misije. Letece u pozadini i skidati dronove i krstarece sto prodju.
Jeftinije je koristiti tu raketu od one za patriot ili sl.
A amer ce da im salje te starije iz viskova, i dopunjavati potroseno sa 9x.
