Citat:Swiss aerospace developer Pilatus Aircraft has awarded Canadian firm CMC Electronics a contract to supply avionics for its PC-21 next-generation pilot trainers.
The contract covers the delivery of flight management systems, SparrowHawk heads-up display (HUD) subsystems, and CMA-5024 global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers.

Contracts for the purchase of 19 Pilatus PC-21 trainers and 23 Grob 120TP trainers have been signed by SkyAlyne as a second major step, following the order for 19 Airbus H135 helicopters earlier this month.
The SkyAlyne contract for the RCAF will replace two separately contracted programmes, Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) and NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC).

First Pilatus PC-21 for RCAF FAcT programme
Citat:The aircraft, serial 157201 (c/n 363), was spotted on the PC-21 assembly line at Pilatus in Stans (Switzerland) on 22 July 2025. The Canadian designation for the PC-21 will be CT-157 Siskin II, named after the Armstrong Withworth Siskin, the RCAF’s first true fighter aircraft in 1926.
In November 2024, SkyAlyne signed contracts for the purchase of 19 PC-21 trainers and 23 Grob 120TP trainers, marking the second major acquisition phase under the FAcT programme, following an earlier order for 19 Airbus H135 helicopters.
The PC-21s will be based at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, replacing the Beechcraft CT-156 Harvard II currently operated under contract. Entry into service is planned for 2026.
