A Northrop Grumman-led team is dashing its plan to propose a modified BAE Systems Hawk trainer for the U.S. Air Force’s T-38 replacement program, opting instead for a clean-sheet design for the $1 billion program.
The shift is more bold than it is surprising. The team is paying for a brand-new prototype despite a slump in defense spending. But it has become increasingly evident that the Hawk is unsuited for the mission due to shortfalls in the fast-jet trainer’s ability to sustain Gs, perform high angle-of-attack maneuvering and execute tight turn rate and radius.
Scaled Composites, wholly owned by Northrop Grumman since its purchase in 2007, formed a small team to build a suitable aircraft from the ground up.
This marks the third U.S. company to propose its own new-build aircraft for a competition that began with three foreign-built, modified off-the-shelf designs: the Hawk, Lockheed Martin/Korea Aerospace Industries T-50 and General Dynamics/Alenia Aermacchi M-346. Boeing planned since entering the competition to offer a new-build design; it is teamed with Saab. Textron Airland is looking at three variants of its company-developed Scorpion demonstrator for the T-X mission, says President Bill Anderson. Boeing declined to comment about progress on its prototype

Yak-152 trainer aircraft to perform its maiden flight in autumn :
Yak-152 light trainer aircraft developed for Russian Ministry of Defense should perform its maiden flight in autumn, TASS reports with reference to Deputy Director General on Flight Testing of Yakovlev design bureau, Hero of Russia, Roman Taskaev.
“We plan that Yak-152 will perform its maiden flight in September or October 2015. Irkutsk Aviation Plant has already started production of the aircraft’s components. Ramenskoe-based design bureau is developing aircraft control system and working on adjustment of algorithms,” Taskaev said.
He reminded that in late 2014 the mockup committee made its comments on the project. At present designers are working on eliminating the faults noted in the comments and making changes in the documentation.
“After the first flights we hope to move the jet to Zhukovsky-based Gromov Flight Research Institute. There we will prepare the vehicle for state testing, which will be started in 2016,” he added.
In 2014 Yakovlev design bureau won the tender for development of Yak-152 aircraft for Russian Ministry of Defense; the project is designated “Ptichka-VVS”. The value of this contract is 300 million rubles.
It is expected that the new aircraft will be powered by a piston diesel engine. This aircraft will help cadets learn to pilot the Yak-130 jet quicker and easier, after that they will start piloting combat jets. It was reported earlier that Yak-152 should perform its maiden flight in 2015. The vehicle should be put into service not later than November 25th 2016.

Lafe, nema tu nikakvih "bocnih produzetaka". Nos ovog aviona je kao i kod svih ostalih serijskih T-38.
Ovo je standardni T-38 Talon akro grupe Thunderbirds.
Koristili su ih zvanicno u periodu 1974-1983, a sada ih lete po potrebi, za snimanja poput ovog.

Kroz bogatu tradiciju akro grupe Thunderbirds ( T-33A, F-84F, F-100, F-4, pa i T-38 Talon … do F-16 ) vidimo da SAD praktično zadržavaju istu šemu akro bojenja sa manjim izmenama shodno zmaju aviona ali princip prepoznatljivosti je isti ).

Tačno kada se površno pogleda predmetna slika, "sve govori" da se radi o standarnom T-38 Talon, jednog iz 7. akro grupe Thunderbirds. Međutim kada se još više zumira nosni deo (gledajući iz položaja pilota, svetlost pada sa leve na desnu stranu o čemu mi govori znatno tamniji desni uvodnik vazduha od levog. Svesno sam markirao strelicama već viđeno gornje nosno ispupčenje. Da li ovde vidimo bilo kakvu uočljivu refleksiju svetlosti ? Vidimo i refleksiju donjeg dela kokpita sa obe strane (takođe markirano stelicama).

Svetlost (refleksija) i te kako može da zavara, međutim kada je u pitanju ovako relativno blisko fotografisanje pitam se da li je tako ? Kada se pročita tekst na engleskom vidimo da se SAD uprksos rezanju vojnog budzeta okreću svom prototipu. Nikako netvrdim da se ovde radi o nekom "protipu" čiji je temelj na osnovu slike dalja evolucija T-38 već svesno fokusiram pažnju na nosni deo aviona.

Sunčeva svetlost, tj. usmereni fotoni mogu da daju odsjaj - odraz do efekta ogledala ako je u pitanju vodena površina, ali da oblikuju metal svakako ne. Više puta zumiram i analiziram sliku nosnog dela T-38 i po mom mišljenju, bez namere da budem isključiv nemogu se složiti da je ovde u pitanju igra svetlosti koja daje iskrivljenu sliku nosnog dela T-38. Sve i da se radi o direktnoj fokusiranoj svetlosti moj je stav da je nemoguće dobiti ovakvu jasno razgraničenje kako sam naveo bočnih dodataka - tj. figurativno, slobodnim rečnikom "produženih nosnih brkova " . Termin strejkovi za nosni deo aviona je svakako neadakvatan. Ovo je naravno moje mišljenje. Tačnije na predmetnoj slici nakon još jačeg zumiranja vidim potpuno novi dodati aero profil.

Neverujem da je T-38 u rarzličitim verzijama od A - C do naročito T-38-M koji je sastavu turskih oružinaih snaga u priličnom broju (više desetina) sa modernim glaskokpitom još rekao sve.

Mislim da će SAD u svom naprednom T-X supersoničnom trenažeru iskoristiti već znana rešenja sa M-346-MASTER i naročito ROKAF - T-50 Golden Eagle (znamo ko je nosioc nastanka istog), držeći se principa made in USA a pogotovo iz sadšnjeg aspekta geopolitičkih dešavanja, sujetno trudeći se da što manje dizajnom liči na JAK-130 -MINTEN. Kada su se američki poreski obveznici ikada pitali kada je u pitanju trka u naoružanju i prestižu ? Mislim da je startno kao jedna od opcija viđena maketa T-100 slepi kolosek a da budući T-X možemo videti kao dublju modernizaciju T-50 Golden Eagle ali sa dosta novina u konačnoj aerodinamičkoj izvedbi.

Moguće je i predpostaviti da će Rusija i pre prve pojave američkog T-X ići na supersoničnu izvedbu JAK-130 kako jednoseda, tako i dvoseda sa znatno jačom pogonskom grupom(ama) od L-15 sa dva vertikalca, približno slično sledećem dizajnu koga sam našao na netu , naravno bez iranskih oznaka i vingletima na krajevima krila (LIFT ~1,8 maha), čime blagovremeno otvara pre konkurencije vrata za nova tržišta ( sve ono što nisu uradili sa jednomotornom izvedbom MIG-29, naravno potpuno novog naziva, koji duboko objedinjijuje generaciju ispred i naprednu obuku i višenamenski borbeni avion ):



Bez obzira što je M-346 - MASTER i Izraelu realnost , američka sujeta i prestiž traži više. Budući T-X nikako nevidim kao aerodinamičkog blizanca JAK-130 :



Zumirani nosni deo T-38 sa bitnim markacionim linijama gde se po mom mišljenju na osnovu viđene fotografije vidi novi bočni - nosni aeroprofil. Negovorim decidirano, već na osnovu zumirane fotografije nevidim logičan racio da svetlost dovede do ovakve izmene aeroprofila :



Gledajući u odnosu na T-38A (u odnosu na davni 17.03.1961. kada ulazi zvanično u sastav USAF) sada vidimo solidno izveden glaskokpit T-38C - M. 2008 Turska je (mislim da negrešim) dobila zadnju branšu još dublje modernizovanih T-38M (sada ih zajedno sa T-38A + M ) izvedbi imaju više destina, opcijom ulaska u nadzvučne brzine ~ 1,4 maha.

T-39C - USA :

The main reason for USAF to upgrade T-38A to T-38C is to give Students realistic training(avionics, flight performance, etc ...) so that student pilots will be familiar with most of the avionics/manuevers used in the real front line fighters. This is the idea of LIFT basically...Preparing student pilots for front line fighters in a realistic cockpit environment...T-6 TeXAN-II/T-38 and go to F-16 and F-15 OCU units...

Najdublju mogoću modernizaciju koja ima aerodiniamičke temelje upravo na T-38 TALON vidimo na turskim F-5 A/B 2000.

T-38 TALON (A -C ) omogoćuva naprednu obuku pilota vezano za podzvučne i nadzvučne vode, modernu avioniku ali ga nigde nevidimo (moguće je da postoje izuzeci) sa podvešenim naoružanjem.

Kada se pogleda F-5 A/B 2000 u dvosedoj varijanti vidimo hronologiju razvoja T-38 ( isti aerodinimački koreni sa uzdignutim kokpitom bolje preglednosti). F-5 A/B 2000 je turska investicijia, duboka dalja i aerodinimička i naprednom avionikom modernizacija T-38 . >>>

The goal in this training is to prepare rookie pilots for the mission: Becoming a real fighter pilots...In this phase, flights are mostly done in single(which is important) seat F-5/NF-5-2000's, a big difference from Cigli, and training involves simulated missions with either with real bombs or training bombs...Air-Air sorties are designed to teach pilots BFM and basics weapons usage: dummy Sidewinders, 20mm gun sorties are flown...Air-Ground missions are performed with dummy bombs, or training bombs/rockets...All of these missions performed in F-5/NF-5/2000s so that pilots should get used to F-16 avionics, (HUD, HOTAS,MFD, AVTR, INS/GPS, etc) and primary weapons.The real benefit of this training will be seen in the F-16 OCU training later...Adaptation will be easy, learning curve will be shorter.Less F-16 sorties will require to teach certain weapon usage techniques.
48 aircraft costed around 120 millions dollars, 75 million for avionics, the rest for structural upgrade which is designed by TuAF maintanence facility in Eskisehir, new MK-16L ejection seats and GFE...No aircraft was sent to abroad, only avionics integration lab was built by ELBIT in Israel and later transfered to Eskisehir Turkey. Elbit's performance was perfect in this upgrade, maybe having gained experience from Chile F-5E, USAF T-38s(worked with Boeing, most of the avionics provided by Elbit)...Elbit designed TuAF F-5/2000 avionics upgrade.

Iz dvosede verzije nastaje i jednoseda varijanta sa ElBIT radarom u celosti modernim LIFT avionom.

Šta mi je bio krajnji cilj od početnog T-38A TALON . Primer kako je Turska avion koji napunio više od 50 godina od startnog uvođenja u USAF mudrim investiranjem na principima iste aerodinimačke platforme dobio budućnost ne samo kao LIFT dvoseda varijanta već i daljom evolucijom i jednosedu.

Koja zemlja sa skromnim budzetom nebi poželela da u svom sastavu ima i napredni LIFT dvosedi trenažer i jednosed . Naravno "koliko para toliko i muzike". U svakom slučaju primer za pohvalu.
