Ala je ovo cudo moglo da zameni sve F-16 i sve F-16 kod svih musterija. Ali sigurno bi bio mnogo jeftiniji za razvoj i prozivodnju a to nekako ne ide Razz

From the specifications, it was clear that at the time the Model-24F was being examined, the USAF was looking for a much lighter and much faster aircraft than the current Lockheed Martin F-35. It's apparent from these diagrams that the Boeing Model-24F design was to be a much more slender aircraft than what eventually became the JSF. It also looks like it was designed to be far more agile--it has provisions for two-dimensional thrust vectoring and some other interesting features. The design matches the Raptor's top speed of about Mach 2.2 though it doesn't cruise supersonically like the F-22.

Očekujem da će nov švedski multirole naslednik Gripena da bude sličan konceptu YF-24. Jednomotorac ali znatno lakši (barem 5 tona) od F-35. Sa nekom poboljšanom variantom F-1xx motora.

X-31 tailless concept

In 1994, software was installed in the X-31 to demonstrate the feasibility of stabilizing a tailless aircraft at supersonic speed, using thrust vectoring. This software allowed destabilization through the control laws of the aircraft in incremental steps to the goal of simulation 100 percent tail-off. Quasi-tailless tests began in 1994. The first phase started with supersonic evaluations at Mach 1.2. Later subsonic evaluations were performed.
