Korea air force academy to obtain 23 KAI KC-100s

Citat:South Korea’s air force academy has entered a memorandum of understanding to obtain 23 Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) KC-100 Naraon light aircraft.

The deal was signed with South Korea’s departments of transportation and defence, as well as the Defence Acquisition Program Administration, says KAI.

The deal is significant because it marks the first mass production contract for the aircraft, says KAI. A report carried by official state news agency Yonhap says a final contract could come by the end of 2014.

All 23 aircraft are expected to be delivered by 2016.

Ugovor za proizvodnju K2

Citat:The company said that the contract - signed with the government's Defense Acquisition Program Administration - is worth KRW901.5 billion (USD820 million) and features the supply of a first batch of K2 MBTs fitted with indigenously produced engines and transmission systems.

Hyundai Rotem did not reveal the number of tanks covered by the new contract, although IHS Jane's understands it features the supply of 100 K2 units. Already in production, these tanks are scheduled to be delivered to the RoKA between the latter half of 2015 and December 2017.
