PAF fighter pilots to undergo training in S. Korea
Citat:Expecting initial delivery of FA-50 lead-in fighter jets late next year, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) is sending its fighter pilots to South Korea for a six-month training in handling the brand-new supersonic aircraft.
PAF’s Air Defense Wing chief Col. Ernesto Okol said that aside from three fighter pilots, they are also sending 32 support personnel to South Korea in March for the much-needed flight and maintenance transition training.
“PAF is sending three of our most skilled instructor-pilots with the highest flying time with relative years (in military service) under their belt, to South Korea to undergo a six to seven months’ training,” Okol said.
He said the three pilots have been flying S-211 jets.

F/A-50s able to do autonomous air patrols
Citat:With its relative updated radar systems onboard, the soon-to-be commissioned F/A-50s “Fighting Eagle” is able to do autonomous air patrols without relying too much on ground based surveillance systems.
This was disclosed by Philippine Air Force (PAF)spokesperson Lt. Col. Enrico Canaya in a message to the PNA.
“(The F/A-50s) has its own onboard radar systems so it can detect (any hostile air threats) while on patrol,” he added.
Canaya declined to give the specifics of the F/A-50’s radar systems for security reasons but stressed that it is quite adequate for air patrol work.

S. Korea pushing to export FA-50 fighter jets to Peru
Citat:The South Korean military is seeking to export US$1 billion worth of an indigenous light attack aircraft to Peru, an informed source said Tuesday.
"We've been pushing to sell 24 units of the FA-50 to Peru, and are planning to submit a proposal for Lima's fighter purchase project this month," said the source, requesting anonymity. "Factoring in the necessary logistics support, the total amount of the envisioned exports would reach $2 billion."

Ne fali mu puno do čistokrvnog lakog lovca. Čak je i prilično velik vazduhoplov po gabaritima. Motorom F414 i uvečanim DSI uvodnicima vazduha mogao bi i do Mach 1,8.
