EDGE revealed the successful execution of feasibility studies for integrating AL TARIQ’s LR-PGMs onto the HAL Tejas LCA.
This achievement stems from a strategic memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year, solidifying the partnership between AL TARIQ, a joint venture of EDGE and Denel, and HAL, India’s aerospace entity.

Citat:Mark 1A will showcase over 40 enhancements from the Mark 1 variants already in operation. These include advancements such as air-to-air refueling, beyond-visual-range [BVR] capabilities, and enemy radar interference capacity.
Citat:As of now, two IAF squadrons, the 45 Squadron and the 18 Squadron, are fully equipped with the LCA Tejas. In the years to follow, Tejas will make its grand entry as the largest fleet of fighter aircraft managed by the IAF.
Currently, the rate of production for HAL is at 8 LCA aircraft per year. This will be increased to 16 annually by 2025, and subsequently, to 24 aircraft per year over the succeeding three years.
The delivery of LCA Mk 1A is scheduled to be distributed over the next four years.

HAL delays delivery of first Tejas Mk 1A to mid-2024
Citat: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has test-flown its first production Tejas Mk 1A Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). However, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is unlikely to get the aircraft until mid-2024, an industry source told Janes .

According to HAL, the first production aircraft, serial no LA-5033, conducted an 18-minute successful sortie from the HAL airport in Bengaluru on 28 March. HAL intended to deliver at least one Tejas Mk 1A to the IAF by February 2024, a deadline that was subsequently moved up to 31 March. Janes understands that the handover of LA-5033 to the IAF could possibly require at least two additional months.

An industry source told Janes that the delay in delivery is because of ongoing “disruptions in the supply chain” for the programme.
