Portuguese Air Force unveils special liveried F-16
Citat:To commemorate the 2021 edition of the Tiger Meet at Beja, the Portuguese Air Force has unveiled a special liveried F-16AM. The aircraft involved is 15116 (AA-16) and we were provided with pictures of this nice Fighting Falcon by Filipe Cruz.
Despite the Corona-pandemic, the Portuguese Air Force is hosting two spotter days, on 6 and 12 May. A maximum of 300 participants will be allowed to join.

Taiwan to equip F-16A/Bs with Auto-GCAS after fatal crash last year
Citat:Taiwan intends to fit the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (Auto GCAS) on its F-16A/B fleet after a fatal crash in November last year.
The upgrade was announced in a Pentagon contract announcement on Apr. 26. Lockheed Martin was given a $138 million contract under Peace Phoenix Rising 2 (PPR2) program.
The contract modification is for the development and fielding of the AGM-88 High Speed Anti-radiation Missile as well.

Ovo je pominjano ali definitivan odgovor zasto F-16 nose AIM-120 na krajevima krila a ne AIM-9 je sprecavanje flatera.

The F-16 is able to carry different missiles on multiple stations at the same time, such as the AIM-120 and AIM-9. Because of that capability, the AIM-120 is positioned on the wingtip to reduce wing flutter, while still ensuring mission performance.


So, the wing flutter explanation is indeed the right one. This would explain why most F-16s fly with AIM-120 captive training rounds, which weigh 335 pounds, just like their live counterparts, on their wingtips regardless of the training situation.

Flutter has airframe fatigue and even performance impacts in particular areas of the flight envelope and can be minor to catastrophic in nature. Iracki F-16 IQ ostaju bez podrske LockheedMartin osoblja:

LM je do sada imao 70 svojih tehnicara u bazi Balad. Sada 50 ljudi povlaci kuci, a preostalih 20 premesta u bazu Erbil. Zvanicno objasnjenje je bezbednost osoblja.
Iracki piloti ne uspevaju da naprave dovoljan nalet, smatra se da je u ovom trenutku letno sposobno svega 10ak aviona. Uz odlazak LM osoblja iz baze, moze se ocekivati prizemljenje i tih 10ak letelica u veoma kratkom roku.

Alternativa je FA-50, ali i taj avion zavisi od podrske LM-a.

Ostale 2 mlazne opcije su L-159 i Su25, obe podzvucne.
Za L-159 ne znam kako ih Cesi odrzavaju, ali svi Su-25 su im trenutno prizemljeni zbog nedostatka rezervnih delova ili isteka resursa.
