Ne očekujem ja da će on biti agilan kao T-50. Pogotovo bez jačih motora. Do sad, koliko sam primetio, nisu ništa pokazali, a što bi bilo u skladu sa gabaritima i dizajnom aviona, te potiskom koji mu daju dostupni motori.

Prema nekim izvorima Kinezi su započeli prvu fazu serijske proizvodnje J-20. Prototipovi su se označavali brojevima od 2000 a novi avion koji se pojavio nosi broj 2101. Da li to znači da je rad na WS-15 završen i da će novi avioni koristit taj motor ili će i dalje koristiti onaj slabiji, stariji ? Zna li neko nešto više o ovome ?

One of the most ambitious projects is the Chengdu J-20, the first game of the fifth generation Chinese. The program started in mid-2005, had the first specimen caught in 2011, while conducting ground tests in CCS plant (Chengdu Aerospace Corportation). While following the Chinese tradition to keep under strict confidentiality any aerospace program, it is known that eight prototypes are involved in the test campaign in flight.
Chinese sources say have been produced so far, with two lots, for special testing and trials. The first aircraft received the designations 2001, 2002, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The serial numbers show that the first two aircraft were effectively prototypes for the test campaigns on the ground and in vain. With the second batch receiving the first adjustments, facing more complex testing campaigns, including performance, maneuverability, implementing electronic systems, among others.
One of the current obstacles of the J-20 is its engine, which still does not allow operations in supercruise scheme (supersonic flight without afterburners aid). However, analysts believe that China is close to getting the stealth radar. The most recent images of the prototype 2012 show few signs of evolution in relation to the first two examples, and show the use of the Luneburg lens, a device that amplifies the echo radar. The goal here is to allow the air traffic system and engineers can monitor the aircraft in flight.
It was recently spotted a new model with registration number 2101, which is probably the first pre-series model. This shows the progress of the J-20 program, which should be completed by mid next year. The expectation of China is to have the first operational aircraft in mid-2020.

A ja kad gledam F-35, F-22 ili T-50 vidim da su napravljeni od materijala koji (barem vizualno) izgledaju drukčije od aviona 4. generacije, dok mi kod kineza sve djeluje kao obični limovi koji su oblikovani u stilu pravih aviona 5. generacije. Čini mi se da američko/ruski materijali ili premazi i sama obrada kuteva i prijelaza materijala izgleda bitno drukčije od kineskih.
