The first aircraft carrier to be made in China will be constructed according to the same blueprints used in building the Liaoning, a carrier which was constructed in Soviet Ukraine in the 1980’s and later sold to the People's Liberation Army.
China has confirmed that it will construct an aircraft carrier domestically for the first time to accompany the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's sole existing carrier, the Liaoning, according to reports in the Chinese press last week.
The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported confirmation from China's Defense Ministry that the country's second aircraft carrier will be constructed at the Dalian shipyard, which is located on the Liaodong Peninsula in Northeast China.
China will construct the vessel according to the Soviet blueprint the Chinese navy obtained when it bought its Liaoning aircraft carrier from Ukraine's Black Sea Shipyard in 1998. Construction began on the Kuznetsov-class carrier for the Soviet fleet in 1985; it was first called the Riga, then the Varyag, and was launched to sea in 1988.
In 1992, the cash-strapped Ukrainian government decided to sell the ship when it was two-thirds built; the unfinished vessel was eventually bought by China in 1998 for more than $20 million, or $25 million according to some reports. For comparison’s sake, the USS Harry S. Truman, which was commissioned in 1998, cost $4.5 billion, or 225x that amount. As part of the deal, the Chinese navy also received 40 tons of Soviet blueprints for the carrier's construction.
Last year, an expert at China's Naval Military Studies Research Institute said that China needs at least three aircraft carriers to defend its national interests at sea. The researcher said that the ships could be built at the Dalian shipyard, where the Liaoning was refitted, or at the Shanghai-based Jiangnan Shipyard.

Kinezi su dakle pored Varjaga svojevremeno dosli i do TD/KD ( tehnicke i konstruktivne dokumentacije ,nacrta,skica i shema ...) za taj brod Projekta 1143.6 .. medjutim postavlja se pitanje da oni kojim slucajem nisu dosli u posed TD/KD izrezanog Uljanovska ..To ostaje da se vidi kad novi NA bude porinut ..da li ce biti poput ex- Varjaga/Liaoninga( navodno da je u planu da novi NA ima deplasman oko 50 000 t sto navodi da je to smisljena propaganda jer `Liaoning` ima puni deplasman oko 65 000 t ) ili nalik neizgradjenom Uljanovsku .Treba dodati da su oni isto tako dosli i do jednog prototipa Su-27K cime je bio otvoren put za `stancovanje` njihovih palubnih lovaca J-15 .

Kažu da će prvi kineski model nosaća biti unapređenje Varjaga a da će drugi več biti sa katapultima.

China's first indigenous aircraft carrier nearing completion
Citat:Airbus Defence and Space imagery captured on 11 August 2016 shows significant activity related to China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) projects at Dalian Shipyard, including the assembly of the country's first indigenous aircraft carrier (CV), the Type 001A, and the production of Type 052D guided-missile destroyers (DDGs).
The imagery shows that, with the addition of the bow section and other exterior components, the assembly of the Type 001A CV is nearly complete. Two of the component fabrication areas adjacent to the dry dock are largely clear of materials, indicating that work on the Type 001A hull is nearing an end. Few uninstalled components remain present, including the forward aircraft elevator.
Additional components awaiting installation relate to the superstructure. Two modules, consisting of portions of the forward and aft sections of the superstructure, can be seen in one of the component fabrication areas.
Apart from sections of deck plating, which remain uninstalled to facilitate access to internal areas, the superstructure is the final significant external feature awaiting installation. The presence of superstructure modules suggests installation could occur in the near term.
Across the harbour from the Type 001A's dry dock, work on Dalian's three Type 052D DDG hulls is progressing. One hull remains in dry dock, with two pier side. The first hull is visibly complete and is undergoing sea trials, while the second hull, launched on 3 August 2016, awaits the installation of various components.
Berthed at the northern end of the ship yard, the second hull lacks many sensor and weapon fittings. Notably absent are the forward 130 mm gun, the forward vertical launch system, and various sensor fittings, including the Type 366 radar mounted atop the bridge.

Ove god kažu. Obzriom na tempo, ne čudi. Do 2020, možda budu i četiri imali. Ako budu išli na katapult verovatno do 2022.
